Muhabbat-e-Rasool ﷺ aur Namaz

Mah-e-Rabi‘ al-Awwal — part 5
Tasawwur kijiye ek aise mareez ka jo ek shadeed aur mohlik tareen baatini bimaari mein mubtala hai aur apne mulk ke sab se shafeeq aur azeem tareen tabeeb ke paas ilaaj ke liye pahunchta hai. Woh tabeeb us ki haalat par reham khaate hue use ek intehaai naayaab oxygen cylinder aur us ke saath ek khaas mask ata farmata hai. Tabeeb use bistar-e-marg par lete lete, intehaai naheefi aur aakhri saanson ke dauraan bhi, poore dard aur takeed ke saath naseehat farmata hai:
“Dekho! Is mask ko har haal mein apne chehre par lagaye rakhna aur is oxygen ki supply ko ek lamhe ke liye bhi band na hone dena, yahi tumhari zindagi ka sab se pehla, bunyaadi aur aakhri sahaara hai!”
Ab ek ajeeb-o-ghareeb aur chaunka dene wala manzar dekhiye! Woh mareez hospital se baahar aata hai aur us shafeeq tabeeb ke ehsanaat ke charche shuru kar deta hai. Woh tabeeb ke naam ka ek bahut bada banner banwata hai, shehar ke markazi chaurahe par apne doston aur rishtedaron ka ek azeemushshaan ijtema‘ munaqqid karta hai, aur ghanton mike par khade hokar us tabeeb ke husn-e-akhlaq, us ki shafqat aur us ki tibbabat par tareekhi aur joshili taqreerein karta hai. Poora majma‘ taaliyan bajata hai aur tabeeb ki azmat ke na‘re lagata hai.
Lekin jaise hi is ijtema‘ ke dauraan us ke phephron mein saans ghutne lagti hai aur tabeeb ke bataye hue is muqaddas mask ko chehre par lagane aur oxygen ki naali kholne ka waqt aata hai, to woh shakhs use bojh samajh kar ek taraf phenk deta hai! Woh oxygen cylinder ko nazarandaaz karke ghanton na‘rebaazi aur taqreeron mein magan rehta hai.
Nateeja yeh nikalta hai ke saans band hone ki wajah se us ka dam ghutne lagta hai, us ka poora jism neela pad jaata hai aur woh isi shandaar ijtema‘ aur naaron ke shor ke beechon beech tadap tadap kar behosh hone lagta hai. Yeh dekh kar wahan maujood ek danishmand insaan hairat aur ta‘ajjub se pukaar uthta hai:
“Yeh kaisa deewana mareez hai?
Ab zara tadap kar apne haalaat par nazar daaliye! Yahi woh larza-khez aur ta‘ajjub-khez tazad hai jo aaj hamare muhabbat ke da‘won aur hamari amali ghaflat ke darmiyan nazar aata hai.
Yeh namaz dar-asal hamari rooh aur imaan ki woh “oxygen” hai jis ke baghair Musalman ka baatin zehr-aalood aur murda ho jaata hai.
Hum Rasoolullah ﷺ ki muhabbat ke naam par raaton ko jaag kar bade bade ijtema‘aat sajaate hain, na‘ton ki majlison mein ghanton khade rehte hain aur Aap ﷺ se bepanah aqeedat ke na‘re lagaate hain, lekin jaise hi isi tabeeb-e-a‘zam ﷺ ke hukm ke mutabiq azaan ki pukaar par sajde mein girne aur namaz ki oxygen se apne imaan ko zinda karne ka waqt aata hai, to hum us naadaan mareez ki tarah ghaflat dikhate hain. Hum ijtema‘aat mein to ghanton khade rehte hain, magar Fajr, Zuhr ya ‘Isha ki namaz ka waqt aate hi ghaafil hokar so jaate hain ya kaamon mein mast rehte hain.
Muhabbat ka da‘wa karne wale ko yeh chaunka dene wali sachchai samajhni chahiye ke aakhri lamhaat ki wasiyyat yani namaz ko tod kar sirf naam ke ijtema‘aat mein ghanton shirkat karna rooh ko zindagi nahi de sakta. Agar sajdon mein sar jhukaane aur namaz ki pabandi karne ka jazba bedaar na ho, to insaan ko bedaar hokar apne is da‘wa-e-muhabbat ka sanjeedgi se jaaiza lena chahiye ke woh kis ki muhabbat ka dam bhar raha hai aur kis ki sab se aham wasiyyat ko paamaal kar raha hai.

Rabi‘ al-Awwal — Episode 5
Imagine a person suffering from a very serious and deadly illness of the heart and soul. He goes to the most caring and greatest doctor in his country for treatment. Seeing his condition, the doctor feels deep sympathy for him and gives him a rare oxygen cylinder along with a special mask.
Even while lying on his deathbed, extremely weak and struggling with his final breaths, the doctor advises him with great concern and emphasis:
“Listen! Keep this mask on your face at all times, and never stop the oxygen supply even for a moment. This is the first, most basic and last support of your life!”
Now look at a strange and shocking scene.
The patient leaves the hospital and starts talking everywhere about the kindness of that caring doctor. He gets a huge banner made in the doctor’s name. At the main crossroads of the city, he gathers his friends and relatives for a grand programme. He stands at the microphone for hours, giving emotional speeches about the doctor’s good character, his kindness and his skill as a doctor. The whole crowd claps and raises slogans in praise of the doctor.
But then, while the gathering is going on, he starts struggling to breathe. The time comes to put on the very mask the doctor had told him to use and open the oxygen supply.
Yet he throws the mask aside, thinking of it as a burden!
He ignores the oxygen cylinder and remains busy for hours with slogans and speeches.
What happens next?
His breathing becomes difficult. His body starts turning blue, and in the middle of that grand gathering, surrounded by loud slogans and applause, he begins to lose consciousness.
Seeing this, a wise man standing there cries out in shock:
“What kind of foolish patient is this? In the name of the doctor who has been praised throughout the whole city, he is himself destroying the doctor’s final advice and throwing away the life-saving oxygen!
Can hours of slogans bring back the breath that is slowly leaving him?”
Now, with a wounded heart, look at our own condition.
Is this not the frightening contradiction that exists today between our claims of love and our practical neglect?
Our spiritual life is close to destruction because of sins. And in the most delicate moments of his final illness, while lying on his deathbed and taking his last breaths, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave the greatest emphasis to one thing:
That is, take care of Salah.
Salah is, in reality, the “oxygen” of our soul and faith. Without it, the inner life of a Muslim becomes poisoned and spiritually lifeless.
We stay awake at night in the name of our love for Rasulullah ﷺ. We arrange large gatherings. We stand for hours in Na‘t gatherings and raise slogans of deep love and devotion for him ﷺ.
But when the time comes to follow the command of this greatest guide ﷺ—to answer the call of the Adhan, bow down in Sajdah and give our faith the oxygen of Salah—we become like that foolish patient.
We can stand for hours in gatherings, but when the time for Fajr, Zuhr or ‘Isha comes, we become careless. We go to sleep or remain busy with our worldly work.
A person who claims to love Rasulullah ﷺ must understand this painful truth:
If we ignore the final advice of Rasulullah ﷺ—Salah—and spend hours merely attending gatherings in his name, it cannot give life to our souls.
If the desire to bow our heads in Sajdah and remain regular in Salah is not alive within us, then we must wake up and honestly examine our claim of love:
Whom are we claiming to love, and whose most important advice are we ignoring?
