Mohabbat ka Da‘wa aur Amal

Mah-e-Rabi‘ ul-Awwal. part -4
Tasawwur kijiye ek aise shakhs ka jo ek qeemti aur jadeed gaari khareedta hai. Woh har roz apne mohalle walon ko jama karta hai aur is gaari ki raftaar, is ki engineering aur is ke banane wale ki zakaawat aur qabiliyat par ghanton dhuandhaar taqreerein karta hai. Woh is gaari ke bonnet par surkh qaleen bichhata hai, is ki body par rozana itr aur phool nisar karta hai aur har ek se cheekh cheekh kar kehta hai: “Mujhe is gaari aur is ke banane wale se itni shadeed mohabbat aur ta‘alluq hai ke main is ke baghair ek pal nahin reh sakta!”
Ek din us ka ek dost us ke paas aata hai aur kehta hai: “Chalo, ajnabi shehar ka ek lamba aur kathan safar pesh aa gaya hai, apni is behtareen gaari ko nikalo aur driving seat par baith kar gaari ko chalao taa-ke hum apni manzil-e-maqsood tak pahunch sakein.”
Yeh sunte hi woh shakhs hichkichane lagta hai. Woh gaari ki chaabi uthane se saaf inkaar kar deta hai, gaari ke steering wheel par baithne ko apne mizaaj par bojh samajhta hai aur kehta hai: “Main gaari chalaunga nahin, na hi is ke petrol aur brake ke usoolon ki pabandi karunga, main to bas baahar khade ho kar is ki tareef ke qaseede parhta rahunga!”
Natija yeh nikalta hai ke woh aur us ka dost usi sakht tapti hui sadak par paidal dhakke khaate rehte hain, gard-o-ghubaar se at jaate hain aur manzil se bhatak kar halaak hone ke qareeb pahunch jaate hain, jabke woh khoobsurat gaari wahin garage mein khadi rehti hai.
Yeh ajeeb-o-ghareeb tazad dekh kar raaste se guzarne wala har musaafir ta‘ajjub aur hairat se shashdar reh jaata hai aur pukaar uthta hai: “Agar tere dil mein is gaari ki waaqai koi qadr aur is ke banane wale se sachchi mohabbat hoti, to tu ise garage ki zeenat bana kar khud sadak par dhakke na khaata, balki is ki driving seat par baith kar is ke usoolon ke mutabiq safar tay karta! Yeh kaisi naadani hai ke zubaan gaari ke naam par waqf hai aur amal mein is ka istemaal sifar?”
Ab zara ruk kar apne girebaan mein jhaank kar dekhiye! Yahi woh chaunka dene wala aur ta‘ajjub-khez tazad hai jo aaj hamare mohabbat ke da‘won aur hamare amal ke darmiyan khada hai.
Rasoolullah ﷺ ki laai hui seerat-e-mutahharah aur Sunnat-e-Nabawi ﷺ hamari zindagi ki woh azeem aur mehfooz-tareen sawaari hai jo insaan ko duniya ki gumraahiyon, akhlaaqi pastiyon aur baatini halaakat se nikaal kar seedhi Jannat aur Raza-e-Ilahi ki manzil tak pahunchati hai.
Hum zubaan se to gaari ki tareef karne wale ki tarah Mohabbat-e-Rasool ﷺ ke be-panaah da‘we karte hain, sher aur na‘tein parhte hain aur mehfilein sajaate hain, lekin jaise hi is Sunnat ki “driving seat” par baithne yani apni aankhon, apne kaanon, apne pait, apne khaan-paan, apni tijarat ke len-den aur apne ghar ke mahaul mein Sunnat-e-Nabawi ﷺ ke usoolon aur qawaid par amal karne ka waqt aata hai, to hum is par baithne se inkaar kar dete hain.
Ek nihayat jaame‘ sher hai:
Tarjuma:
“Agar tumhari mohabbat sachchi hoti to tum mehboob ki ita‘at karte, kyunke mohabbat karne wala apne mehboob ki ita‘at kiya karta hai.”
Jab tak ita‘at-o-ittiba‘ ka amal maujood na ho, mohabbat ka da‘wa mahz ek khokhli aur be-asar baat ke siwa kuchh nahin!

The Claim of Love and the Proof of Action

Rabi‘ al-Awwal — Episode 4
Imagine a man who buys a very expensive and modern car. Every day, he gathers the people of his neighbourhood and speaks for hours about the car’s speed, its engineering, and the intelligence and skill of the person who made it. He spreads a red carpet over the bonnet, sprays perfume on the car every day, showers it with flowers, and keeps shouting to everyone:
“I love this car and its maker so deeply that I cannot live without them even for a moment!”
One day, a friend comes to him and says:
“Come on, we have a long and difficult journey to an unfamiliar city. Take out your best car, sit in the driver’s seat and drive it so that we can reach our destination.”
The moment he hears this, the man begins to hesitate. He completely refuses to pick up the car keys. He feels sitting behind the steering wheel is too much trouble for him and says:
“I will not drive the car. I will not follow its rules of fuel, brakes or driving. I will simply stand outside and keep praising it!”
The result is that he and his friend continue walking along the scorching road. They become covered in dust, lose their way and come close to destruction, while the beautiful car remains standing safely in the garage.
Anyone passing by would be shocked at this strange contradiction and would say:
“If you truly valued this car and genuinely loved its maker, you would not leave it sitting in the garage while you struggle on the road. You would sit in the driver’s seat and travel according to the rules for which it was made!
What kind of foolishness is this? Your tongue is completely devoted to praising the car, but in your actions, you make no use of it at all!”
Now pause for a moment and look into our own lives.
Is this not the very same shocking contradiction that stands between our claims of love and our actions today?
The pure life taught by Rasulullah ﷺ and the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ is the greatest and safest means Allah has given us to travel through life. It takes a person away from the misguidance of this world, moral weakness and inner destruction, and leads him towards Jannah and the pleasure of Allah.
We loudly claim our love for Rasulullah ﷺ, just like the man who keeps praising his car. We recite poetry and Na‘ts, hold gatherings and speak passionately about our love.
But when the time comes to actually sit in the “driver’s seat” of the Sunnah—when we have to follow the teachings of Rasulullah ﷺ in our eyes, our ears, our food and drink, our business dealings, our buying and selling, and the atmosphere of our homes—we step away from it.
There is a very meaningful couplet:
Translation:
“If your love were true, you would obey your beloved, because one who truly loves someone obeys the one he loves.”
Until obedience and following the beloved are seen in our actions, the claim of love is nothing more than empty words with no real effect.
Wait for the next episode…
